Oley Valley Reproductions in Oley, Pennsylvania is east of Reading in Berks County, Pennsylvania, approximately one hour northwest of Philadelphia, one hour from Allentown, Pennsylvania, and one hour and 20 minutes from northern Delaware. Oley Valley Reproductions is approximately 2 miles from the village of Oley. Locate Route 422 east of Reading, Pennsylvania, turn right onto Route 662 north at Douglassville, Pennsylvania. Continue on 662 north past the Yellow House Hotel another 2.2 miles and turn right onto Oley Turnpike Road. Oley Valley Reproductions is one half mile on the left. (Click on map above and look for red star). HISTORY OF THE OLEY VALLEY The Oley Valley is located within Berks County, Pennsylvania, approximately one hour northwest of Philadelphia. The history of the Oley Valley is best told in Philip E. Pendleton's 1994 book, Oley Valley Heritage: The Colonial Years: 1700-1775, in which Pendleton says: "The Oley Valley has long been considered an 'historic place.' The many surviving eighteenth- and early nineteenth century buildings, as well as the valley's innate natural beauty, have drawn Sunday drivers and architectural historians alike since the onset of the automobile age, perhaps longer....In 1983, Oley Township was nominated to the National Register of Historic Places as an Historic District, the first rural municipality in American to be listed in its entirety." Eighteenth century homes, farms and inns dot the countryside. The Oley Valley is the birthplace of Daniel Boone, and today you can visit the Daniel Boone Homestead, operated by the State of Pennsylvania and open to the public. Berks County is the home of the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, operated by the US Park Service as an operating iron plantation. The Historical Society of Berks County, located in Reading, provides access to a museum of early furniture and accessories as well as a superb library. The historic Yellow House Hotel, operating since 1801, is nearby for lunch, dinner or an overnight stay. Come visit us in the Oley Valley! SECURE CREDIT CARD ORDERING: Your credit card information is transmitted securely to Oley Valley Reproductions. We use our standard merchant bank and input all orders manually after confirming your order with you. Full price is submitted for WHAT'S AVAILABLE NOW orders and 50% of full price is submitted for all other orders. The remaining 50% of full price for orders will be charged to your credit card upon completion of the order. PICK UP: Pieces can always be picked up at Oley Valley Reproductions in Oley, Pennsylvania Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm or by appointment. UPS SHIPPING: Some smaller items can be sent via UPS such as the hanging corner cupboard or Shaker two-drawer chest.(One of our Shaker 2-Drawer Mahantango Valley decorated chests recently was shipped UPS to customers in Texas). We are glad to obtain an estimate from UPS for you. LOCAL DELIVERY: We often use a local delivery service for delivery to the mid-Atlantic area. We are glad to assist in arranging delivery and obtaining an estimate. You are responsible for paying delivery fees when items are delivered. SHIPPING NATIONWIDE: We are glad to assist in arranging and obtaining an estimate for shipping nationwide from freight companies we have used in the past.
